We are nuts! We had the siding matched outside. Which means that we had to have it ‘milled’. It looks pretty good. In some places, we had to match the sagging & patching with the 100 year old siding. Here’s a brief list of the changes
Added 2 baths, master closet, and laundry room.
Removed 3 fireplaces & 2 chimneys. Replaced with 2 gas fireplaces and 1 wood burning fireplace/chimneyPainted everyting inside and outCompletely removed kitchen and rebuild (custom cabinets & granite, the works) and still on going. All new systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbingCompletely new roofAnd much much more!
We kept the porch but we are thinking for replacing the columns and making it a wrap around porch.

What kind of changes were made, in the past, to have the different sizes of siding? Was the original front entrance or porch different?
